STARZ will bring The Spanish Princess, based on the novel “The Constant Princess,” by Gregory. As the woman to join two warring houses together, she has to put her birth family to one side to protect her family with her husband and to protect the Tudor line.Ĭatch this series now as another follow-up series is in the works. This is a series that shows you the type of woman Elizabeth of York may have been. This time, though, it’s only based on the one, whereas The White Queen was based on three: “The White Queen,” “The Red Queen,” and “The Kingmaker’s Daughter.” There’s a new cast involved and like the original, the series is based on Philippa Gregory’s novel of the same name. Set shortly after The White Queen, The White Princess told the story of Elizabeth of York and her marriage to Henry VII of England.
However, STARZ took over the followup series, The White Princess on its own. I’ll actually add The White Queen into this too, which was a joint venture between STARZ and BBC in the UK.
